BrainSTEM: STEM 360 Engineering & Robotics (Mondays)
Module 1 – STEM 360 Engineering
Why settle for just one type of engineering when you can try them all? In STEM 360, you’ll explore aerospace, civil, electrical, mechanical, environmental, and chemical engineering through hands-on projects. From building bridges to designing rockets, this course lets you test out multiple engineering disciplines to see which one sparks your passion. Ready to become the ultimate engineer?
Age: Grade 2-7
When: Mondays 3-4:30pm
Where: Cove Cliff Library
Dates: Sept 15-Oct 27 (6 sessions, no class on Oct 13 Thanksgiving)
Cost: $300+tax per student

Module 2 – Robotics Engineering: Intro to Sequencing and Sensors
Become a robot maker in this hands-on course! Using VEX IQ hardware, you’ll
design, build, and program robots to complete tasks that will challenge your
creativity and problem-solving skills. Explore sequencing, sensors, and basic
programming concepts to make your robot smarter and more efficient. Ready to
bring your robot to life and solve real-world challenges with STEM?
Age: Grade 2-7
When: Mondays 3-4:30pm
Where: Cove Cliff Library
Dates: Nov 3-Dec 8 (5 sessions, no class Nov 10 Pro D)
Cost: $250+tax per student

After School Kayak Club (Tuesdays)
Learn, Explore, Make Waves!
This exciting 4-session after-school program is designed for students in Grades 3-7 who are eager to learn how to kayak! Participants will develop their kayaking skills while gaining a deeper appreciation for the ocean environment. Through engaging activities and games, students will build their skills, knowledge, and confidence on the water.
Skills Covered:
– Maneuvering
– Efficient paddling techniques
– Capsizing (challenge by choice activity)
– Ocean navigation
– Water safety
– Understanding the ocean ecosystem
– …and much more!
Age: Grade 3-7
When: Tuesdays 3-5pm
Where: Students will be picked up from school basketball court by instructors who will walk them to Deep Cove Kayak for 3:30 start. Parents pickup from DCK.
Dates: Sept 9, 16, 23, Oct 7 (4 sessions, no class on Oct 30 National Day for Truth & Reconciliation)
Cost: $116+tax per student

After School SUP Club (Tuesdays)
Learn, Explore, Make Waves!
This exciting 4-session after-school program is designed for students in Grades 5-7 who are eager to learn how to paddleboard! Participants will develop their stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) skills while gaining a deeper appreciation for the ocean environment. Through engaging activities and games, students will build their skills, knowledge, and confidence on the water.
Skills Covered:
– Maneuvering
– Efficient paddling techniques
– Ocean navigation
– Water safety
– Understanding the ocean ecosystem

VnV Pottery: “Glazed Over” (Tuesdays)
At VvN Pottery, our goal is to get children excited about ceramic arts and all the
possibilities the medium offers. In the process, they will develop their hand-eye
coordination, expand their patience and focus, have fun getting dirty, and build
confidence in their abilities at the same time. In this beginners class, we explore the colourful world of GLAZE! What is vitrification? How does glaze differ from paint? How does a resist work? This isn’t your regular pottery painting experience; we will be working with mid-fire glazes that produce surprising and enchanting results. We will practice glazing techniques, and finish pre-made spectacular stoneware pieces — all in a relaxed and encouraging environment. All finished pieces are food-, dishwasher-, and microwave-safe, so they may be enjoyed for years to come!
Age: Grade 2-7
When: Tuesdays 3-4:30pm (early dismissal Nov 4 will run 2-3.30pm)

Dates: Oct 14-Dec 2 (7 sessions, no class on Nov 11 Remembrance Day)
Cost: $345 per student (All bisqueware, tools, glazes, and firings included in the lesson fees)

Lights Up Musical Theatre (Wednesdays)
Sing. Dance. Act. Shine!
At Lights Up After School, your child can experience the joys and benefits of musical theatre by taking part in our after school programs led by our talented and experienced Lights Up Musical Theatre Schools’ staff.
These classes are a unique introduction to our weekend musical theatre programs and provide students with an enriching, rewarding, and most of all, fun after school activity right at the bell!
FALL SHOW: BEAUTY AND THE BEAST
This Fall, be our guest with Lights Up’s production of “Beauty and the Beast!” With a script crafted specifically for our after school program, students will step into a world of magic, beloved music, and enchanted characters! Taking inspiration from both the film and Broadway musical, join us for a great adventure in this tale as old as time!
Students will be supervised from dismissal. No need to pick up your child until
5:15pm! Performance on the last day of classes for friends and family!
Age: K-7
When: Wednesdays 3-5:15 pm (early dismissal Nov 5 will run from 2-4:15)
Where: Cove Cliff Music Room
Dates: Oct 1-Nov 26 (9 sessions)
Cost: $365+tax per student

DRIVE Basketball (Thursdays)
The DRIVE afterschool basketball program will run at Cove Cliff Elementary and be exclusive to kids in the cove cliff community. In this program the young athletes would learn about the importance of physical literacy. Each session will focus around introducing the athletes to pass, dribble, shoot, the core fundamental skills of basketball. Each core skill will be followed by fun interactive games that will help to reinforce the skill being taught. All sessions will be run by a qualified, experienced coach that has completed a criminal record check. If the program has more than 14 athletes a second coach will also be present.
Age: Grades 1-4
When: Thursdays 3-4:30pm (early dismissal Nov 6 will run 2-3:30pm)
Where: Cove Cliff school gym
Dates: Sept 25-Dec 4 (11 sessions)
Cost: $250+tax per student

Come to Our Monthly PAC Meeting Every Third Wednesday!
Every parent of a child who attends Cove Cliff is automatically a member of the Parent Advisory Council. All parents are welcome at the meetings and are encouraged to attend. It is a great way to get to know what is happening at the school, what events are coming up, and ways to help out.
