Happy Fall Everyone,

As the days grow longer I am reminded that it is time to start thinking about One Day to Make a Difference – this will be our 15th year!

Did you know that taking time to be thankful for something actually lifts your spirit and helps elevate your mood? That’s right gratitude makes you happier (if you don’t believe me, google it!)

I know I have so much in my life to be grateful for and I love having the opportunity to give something back to my community as a way of passing it on. For me, finding a way to give back that is meaningful and fills me with joy always makes the Christmas season so much brighter.  I also like to think that those on the receiving end are able to experience the joy of gratitude. This year I challenge you to find a way to give back to your community that is meaningful to you and your family. Jump into OD2MAD if you would like, or start something completely new – just make a difference in someone’s life this holiday season.

ONE DAY TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE ~ Spreading Christmas Cheer on the Downtown Eastside
Come join a group of friendly volunteers spreading Christmas cheer by providing soup, sandwiches, snacks, coffee, hot chocolate and baked treats (and sometimes even hot dogs) to those in need at Oppenheimer Park. This is really an incredible opportunity to connect with people who are often ignored in our society. Every year I hear countless stories of how rewarding this day is to both the volunteers and those we are connecting with. Children are welcome and always have fun.

Date: December 3rd time 1 - 3pm

Location: Oppenheimer Park, Vancouver & Victory Square (provided we have a large turnout)
What to bring: Whatever individually wrapped food item you would like to provide. Warm socks, blankets & sweaters are also gratefully accepted.

If you are interested in joining this group please connect with Tree Cleland for more details
